GOLF
Shrigley Hall Hotel and Country Club at Shrigley Park offers an interesting, hilly 6240 yard, 18-hole course open to non-members as well as hotel occupants. There is a well-stocked golf shop, and training is available from a qualified professional. Unusually, a herd of red deer freely roam the course! Whole year membership is available on annual or committed monthly subscription.

LYME PARK
Lyme Park, originally owned by the Legh family, is a National Trust property, consisting of the largest mansion house in Cheshire surrounded by formal gardens in a deer park. Accessible on foot from West Park Gate in Shrigley Road, it is well worth visiting, either to view the magnificent house or enjoy a walk in the lovely parkland from where there are stunning views of the surrounding countryside.

SHRIGLEY HALL HOTEL AND COUNTRY CLUB
Here you can dine in the RAC award winning Oakridge Restaurant with its delightful views over the grounds, where both traditional and contemporary dishes are served. A children’s menu is available.

COFFEE TAVERN
The Coffee Tavern on Shrigley Road is a genuine curiosity. Built in 1887 to celebrate Queen Victoria’s Golden Jubilee and originally a lending library, this charming restaurant was transformed into its current guise 18 years ago. It has seating for around 30 diners and offers a range of hearty meals, with a selection of specials chalked up on a large board. It should be opening again soon. Tel:01625 576370
